    Big inning lifts Diamond Rats

    The CBC Diamond Rats cruised to a 10-3 victory this morning vs. the Hammond Seminoles from Florida. Craig Missigman (Olympic) picked up the victory, allowing one earned run over four innings. Spencer Allison (Weddington) notched the save with two scoreless innings in relief. The game was a 3-2 contest until the 4th inning, then the Rats bats came alive with some big extra base hits delivering runs in bunches. Matt Pearson (Charlotte Christian) had a 2 RBI double of the wall and Bret Cash (Wren HS, Anderson SC) highlighted the inning with a 3-run HR.

    Dirtbags 16 beat NorCal east 5-1 this morning. Jordan DeLoach was the winning pitcher giving up two hits in five innings. Mikal hill had two hits and 3 rbi's, George Carter had two hits, 2 rbi's including his 2 homerun of the tournament.

    Carolina Cubs and Charlotte Heat both are 3-0 and lead their pools.

    Heat Showcase had two players tally two hits in their win. LF Jordan Carlton (2012, Wilkes Central HS, NC) went 2-for-2 with two singles while EH Logan Cheek (2011, Crest HS, NC) showed some power going 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles.

    Bags win a big game over Jacksonville by a score of 6-2....details coming

    The below is from the Nor Cal game:
    Jordan Deloatch got the win on the mound.
    For the Dirtbags, SS Mikal Hill (2011, Mallard Creek HS, NC) showed good on offense, going 2-for-3 with a 2-RBI single and a RBI double. 1B Dalton Knight (2011, West Carteret HS, NC) also went 2-for-3 with two singles.

    DH George Carter (2011, Grimsley HS, NC) hit a lead-off bomb in the seventh and also had a RBI single to go 2-for-4.
