Absolutely true and the one bed I do not want to make is the one where I, having seen it first hand and knowing about it, am looking into either one of my two daughters’ eyes (or son's) while they are laid up in the hospital or worse and whether they can say it or not I know they are wondering why I, as the responsible adult, did not do more to provide/encourage them to use a inexpensive piece of equipment that would have prevented the accident in the first place. Personally, I do not think my youngest daughter needs one playing at SS but she does not know that. She does not mind it, it does not affect her play any, so why start the thought? I do believe when she plays 3rd (sometimes) it is not a bad thing to have. I believe, and it is just my humble opinion as I do not represent any sanctioning or governing bodies and do not have any voting rights on any policy making boards, on the mound and the corners they are a good idea.

It depends on what sanction you are playing. Face mask for pitchers are mandatory in AAU softball. Not mandatory in AAU baseball!
