    If only...

I'm sure the fine folks in Greenville/Pitt County will put on a fine tournament, even if Legion will have to compete with other state tournaments going on in and around town over the next few days. I'm biased, but I sure wish Wilson would have been successful in its bid to host this year's tournament. With all due respect to Cary, which is a solid and hard-hitting team, if Wilson were the host, you would truly have the top two teams from EACH area in this year's tournament. Rocky Mount is very deserving of Area One's lone spot, as they have cruised, unbeaten, through the playoffs -- except for the Area One East finals vs. Wilson. Post 13 led two games to zero and held a 10-8 lead in the 9th inning of game 5 before RM scored the winning run w/2 outs. It should also be noted that Wilson played the entire series without its best hitter.

Post 13 will hold its end of the year banquet Sunday, but it could have been an entirely different banquet Friday night...

Nonetheless, I wish the best to a powerful RM team and hope they represent Area One well!

Pretty sure the hitter to which you refered played in Game 1 of that series, which was won by Wilson. Nonetheless, I agree with your point that post 13 was the 2nd best team in Area 1.
