The player that wears #44 for the Golden Spikes is Macon Smith -Western Guilford 2010.

Best of luck to your son.

Thanks for all the responses. We have found a player who is going to help out. The situation fits perfectly. I sincerely appreciate all the help from everyone. This is a great baseball community out here on TBR.

    Doing OK

They are both OK. One had a nice lump on his head and the other received 9 stitches above his lip. They're both tough kids and will be with us this weekend. Thanks for asking and thanks for trying to help find some guys.

The CBC 17U team contained a number of outstanding players. When they played defense, they were almost unbeatable. It is my understanding that Olen Little held South Charlotte 2009 scoreless for 4 innings. SC scored on errors in the 5th.

    Fun Weekend in Columbia, NC

Well we only went 1-2 at USC at the 16U Impact World Series last weekend but we had fun. We were a couple of innings away from a rematch with the Dirtbags to get to the championship game when the wheels fell off. I really appreciate some of the guys from the SC Panthers coming down to lend us a hand. Out of a 20-man roster we only had 8 to 10 guys available. A sincere thanks to Don Hutchins and his organization for the help.

Speaking of USC. I bleed purple and gold when it comes to baseball but I have to say the facility in Columbia was simply amazing. The field, seating, layout, cages, weight room....it was all awesome. My son and I took a tour of campus and then rode by the football stadium. Wow. Also, a special thanks to the 5 guys burgers and whole lotta fries near the USC field. A great place to eat after a long day of baseball.

Saw some familiar faces umpiring the games at USC. Didn't see Stretchy but I did see some of his henchmen. Moody and some of those other guys are absolutely hilarious.

Time for a break to get ready for the fall season.
