Thanks for positing the scores from today.

The 3 - 2 loss to the Elyria Sun Dogs (OH) was especially heartbreaking. The Lady Blues hit well in this game, but couldn't seem to push the runs across when they needed them. A ton of runners left on base in this one. The Blues scored once in top of 7th on squeeze bunt, and had a chance to score more with runners on second and third with one out, but consecutive strikeouts took care of that. The Elyria Sun Dogs scored their first run with no outs in bottom of 7th on a HR to right field. Then after a single between the 5/6 hole, the next batter failed to execute a sac bunt, but then hit a fly ball to right that carried, carried and carried, and just cleared the top of the fence for a 2 run walk off HR. Talk about a killer.

Oh well, the Lady Blues enjoyed a great run in the National Championship this year. Final outcome was a 7th place finish out of 140 teams from all over the USA. Thanks to all of you back home in NC that were cheering us on. Obviously we would have loved to bring another National Championship back home to NC.

Thought I'd just give a quick shout out to all of the girls that played on the Blues at this years Nationals.

7th out of 140. Damn right NC teams can step up to the plate with anybody anytime!

    Way to go Blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know 75% of the kids on the team and at the very least I've heard one way or another of each and everyone of them being awesome kids.
Thanks for representing NC and BIG TIME props to all of you talented kids on the field.

    Nice!

    Congrats

Congrats to Rodney and the entire Lady Blues organization! This is the way you earn respect and they have got it! 7 out of 140 against a huge West Coast contingent of teams, the heat, the travel, and the grind! You better believe it!

Hope they have a safe trip home. NOW THIS IS SOMETHING TO BRAG ABOUT!

    Thanks

Ty, thanks there were some very tough teams, I would say 25 in number, 75 teams that were good, and 25 that did not belong at this tournament! The SE teams did pretty well, although I have not seen final results.
So. Cal Pumas and Tampa Mustangs were very good! Power, speed, defense, and pitching, fun to watch those two teams. We hit as good as any team out here till Saturday and just seem to be a little under the ball or hit it at the defense, no excuses here as Saturday's final 8 were all awesome teams. We had a great time and all my kids contributed and gave it their best every inning. We are happy to finish 7th but felt we were top four and with a little luck could have competed for #1! This team was the best hitting team overall I have ever coached! Also, had a great deal of heart in tough circumstances. Thanks to my players and parents, as well as coaching staff for a great time in Vegas!
Hope to see you this fall!
