Thanks to tj21 for keeping this post so updated. It really helps to you can keep up with all that's going on on Rowan Legion. What a great and special time for all of these guys..glad that this forum is available so we can kinda share with them and their families in this once and a life-time experience.
Wish the local tv stations in Charlotte or the Triad would cover it as well as the Salisbury Post. Thanks to all of their hard-work in the Rowan Legion coverage as well for outstanding coverage of our local athletes year round. They really do a "World Class" job for all of the prep sports in Rowan County and the surrounding area.
    Thanks.

Thanks for your comments Nate. Rowan not doing so well on this night. Midland,Mich erupts for 5 runs in top 3rd, and lead Rowan County 7-0 in bottom 3rd inning.

Good news is, its still early...

Rowan puts up a "snowman" in the bottom of 6th inning, to pull within 12-8. Rowan back in it, but Midland now batting in top of 7th. Alex Litaker (last night's hero) now on the mound for Rowan...

Well Rowan follows the snowman with 5 more and is now down 2 (15-13) going into the top of the 8th. Those kids are refusing to quit.

Rowan had a great run...3rd best team in the country. Left tying and winning runs on 1st and 2nd...what an excellent run for Rowan! They represented the Southeast, North Carolina, and Area III very well!! congrats on the great run!!

A great run for the Rowan kids. After saying that I have to ask.....

Down 13-8 with Michigan batting in the top of the 7th...one out with Michigan runners on 2nd and 3rd...Gantt goes to the mound for conference with entire infield. They play 2nd baseman in on the grass to cut off anymore runs, but play the SS deep against a right handed stick. The batter grounds the ball to the SS who throws batter out at first...runner on third scores easily.Runner on 2nd base breaks for 3rd and 1st baseman throws wildly past third baseman to allow another run to score...now 15-8 Michigan.

My question is....down 5 runs in the 7th inning why are you playing the SS deep conceding another run?If SS had been playing in on the grass to cut off the run like the 2nd baseman Michigan would not have scored another run in the 7th.The following batter made an out.The score should have been 13-8 heading to the bottom of the 7th.Rowan would have tied it with their 5 spot in the 7th and won it with a run in the ninth.

Just trying to make some sense as to why you have your 2nd sacker playing in on the grass to cut off the runner at 3rd and yet have your SS playing deep.I can't remember ever seeing anything like this.

You have to take your hat off to the Rowan kids who never gave up no matter what the odds.I was pulling hard for another Rowan miracle.Just hated to see those two runs in the top of the 7th wind up being the deciding factor.
