JVs looked very sharp tonight. 1st string could do just about whatever they wanted offensively and defensively. QB Damien Washington only played about half a game, but showed he is a force to be reckoned with as he scored 3 TDs. I was very impressed with his reads, He has very good speed and all the moves. WONDER coaches got everyone in the game, and with the numbers on the JV roster, that's saying something.. Very impressive win!

    1st quarter
QB Washington scored on a 63 yd run. 6-0 K

    2nd quarter
A 75 yd TD pass from Washington to Caleb Jacson was brought back for a block in the back.
QB Washington then ran the keeper for 17 yds. and the TD.
2 pt. conversion pass to JP Lott. 14-0 K

    3rd quarter
Washington then scored his final TD on a 32 yd. run. 20-0 K

    4th quarter
Demetrius Jackson showed his speed on a 86 yd. TD run. 27-0 K

South scored on the last play of the game. Final 27-6 K

McDowell @ Mitchell was called of due to lightning shortly after the start of the second half. The game will not be completed.

Ardrey Kell 34, North Meck 28

Ardrey Kell's JV Knights pulled out a thrilling win in their season opener on the road at North Meck. The game was a back and forth slugfest with the teams trading leads throughout the game. Neither team played their sharpest ball with the usual first game mistakes, couple of turnovers and big plays on both sides.

For AK, freshman Reggie Wood scored twice, once on a kick return and once on a tipped deep ball. Freshman Bobby Petrillo also scored a touchdown and 2 point conversion for the Knights. The Knights took the lead for good with about 2 minutes to go when sophomore safety Tyler Morgan scooped up a Viking fumble and returned it for a long touchdown to take the lead. The AK defense had multiple bright spots with interceptions from Kendall Brown (2), Ian Klemons, and Thomas Nantz. Combined with Morgan's game-winning fumble recovery, the entire starting secondary collected turnovers to get the Knights young season off to a promising start.

The Vikings had strong performances from WR #2 and RB #25, who each provided the offense with several big plays and touchdowns.
