LATE SEASON CALLUPS

    How are late season callups paid. is it a league minimum prorated.

    It is minimum prorated. Roughly 60K for one month. No bad since most September call ups don't play much, especially if the get called up to a playoff team.

    Yes, CBC is exactly correct. With a league minimum of $400,000, in most cases, it is pro-rated. However, with 30 teams, there can be 30 different type contracts. But, keep in mind, after Sept 1 when the league expands to 40 players per team; those players' service are not counted as a ML Player. So the arbitration clock is not ticking. Plus, if they are first time players, they are still regarded as rookies going into next year.

    For many, they hope they can be added to the playoff roster. They can do this if they are replacing someone on the DL (easily done.) It's the playoff bonus's where they can make some serious money.

    My lone representative, Harvey Throgmorton, is still waiting on his call up. But I believe he has run into some problems with immigration in Albania. Harvey's not the sharpest knife in the drawer
