should be one of the better conferences in the state. there isn't a pushover in the bunch which should lead to a very balanced season.

you've got to look at South Caldwell as a favorite this early on simply because of the job the Coach Parham does every year and the work that those kids and staff put in. but don't discount any of the others. trust me, these teams all return some very good players and can get the job done against anybody.

can't wait to discuss the season and see how it all plays out. it's gonna be fun.

I agree that there will not be a push over in this years conference. I also agree that South will still have a tough team to beat even though they lost 2 of the better pitchers from the conference last season. I have heard that AC is returning many players and should be very good. Hickory is the team to beat from what I am hearing but like I said this conference has no push over games and could go anyway on any given night

New Coach at AC will help bring them back to where they should be. I believe it will be one of the strongest year in and year out.

I agree. Our conference is very weak in football but will be one of the strongest in the state in baseball

South and Watuaga will be a little down I think but that does not mean to much with those two coaches because they always find a way to win and compete with whatever team they have. I know foard and hickory have pretty good sticks and some good arms but that is about all i know

i don't know as much about the 3 4A teams, but these are just early thoughts(VERY EARLY).

everybody knows about South. they may have lost some arms, but they've got plenty of talent that just hasn't gotten the publicity yet. plus they've got that tradition and pride. they are still SOUTH CALDWELL and that really goes a long way.

i think watauga lost a good nucleus of seniors, but coach hardee will do what he always does and put a very high quality team on the field.

AC does have a new coach who is very deserving and very good. he'll have that team playing good ball throughout the season.

the 3A's joining the league this year are all very solid.

Hickory has a few good sticks and some good arms coming back. Branson Christopher and Tyler Barnette are just a couple of names that we'll hear throughout the year.

Foard returns Robert McKinney and Jacob Bradshaw, each dangerous at the plate and each very good at their position. When McKinney is on the mound they have a chance to beat anyone in the state.

Hibriten lost a lot like Watauga, but Coach Henthorne is one of the best at getting the most out of his kids. he's a fiery guy and that same attitude shows through his players. they will be fundamentally sound and won't beat themselves.

lastly St. Stephens returns the entire pitching staff and 2/3 of their lineup. Ryan Gant will lead from the mound and at the plate along with Matt Garner, Jacob Hoyle and Cade Vance. throw in a couple from the JV team that will make big contributions this year as well.

I think we all realize how good this conference could be. the potential is there for great ballgames every single night. no matter what school you go to on a Tuesday or Friday night this spring, the NW 3A/4A is sure to entertain you and put a great product on the field.

    can't wait til Spring!!!
