Does anyone have knowledge of or experience with the program at Southeastern CC in Whiteville? Any info about coaches, facilities, academics, housing, etc. would be appreciated.

it's a Community College so classes are small and go at a pace that allows the average student to succeed.
No "on campus" housing... there are apartments nearby and your son will learn to cook if he wants to eat!
I think the facilities are decent and I've never heard anything negative about the staff there.

    SCC

Coach Johnson is a very personal coach and likeable coach....he is in his third year at SCC. His last coaching position was for a high school team in Jacksonville, NC.
SCC is full of history and has had a lot of real good teams. They have been rebuilding in the last few years. Last year, they won their region (region 10) and came within one game of advancing to the world series. They had one 1st team all-american on their team that has now moved on to a division one team; UNC-G.
Housing, it's basically apartments that are reasonable within 5 miles of the campus.
The team normally has 55-60 players in the fall and then is down to roughly 25 in spring due to grades or loss of interest. This is probably like all community colleges.
Whiteville always supports their teams very well, whether it's Whiteville HS, Legion team or SCC.

superwright, good post but i got a question about region X.

is southeastern still division II along with lenoir? who else has joined div. II or is it just those two.

when i played at Lenoir, we were bumped down to DII because of money. so in the post season, it was just us and southeastern that played for the region X DII championship while Louisburg, Pitt, etc played for the region X DI championship. is it still like that?
