Joe Pistacchio (2010, RHP, Green Hope HS) has made a commitment to Appalachian State University. Joe is the 5th member of the 2008 JR Legion Cary Bulls to commit to a DI program following Jake Milinichik (2009, Apex HS, UNC-G), Adam Boghosian (2010, Green Hope, UNC-G), Grant Shambley (2010, Green Hope, Wake Forest), and Blair Betts (2010, Athens, Indiana). This is also Green Hope HS's third Division I commitment in the 2010 class following Boghosian and Shambley. Joe is currently playing with the Western Wake Wildcats.

Way to go Joe. Congrats to him and his family. He has worked very hard on this goal and never gave up hope.

    :woohoo:

Congrats to Joe. He's always working hard and pushing it to the limit.

Um, JM, I think your math might be a little off. Joe's the 5th member of the 2008 Cary Bulls State Champion JR Legion team to commit to a DI program. 2nd member of the 2009 Bulls after Blair.

Yeah you are right, I edited it and forgot to make the change. thanks for the heads up.

He is the 5th from the '08 Bulls (Milinichik, Bogo, Shambley, Betts, and now Joe). He is the 2nd from the '09 Bulls.

Green Hope High will be very strong in '10. Look at that pitching... Pistachio (App), Bogosian (UNCG), and Povse (6'7") leading the way.

Along with Shambley and Josem (sp?) running circles on the base path.

    Congrats Joe !!!

Congrats to Joe and the other 2 Green Hope seniors (Adam Boghosian, Grant Shambley) on their D1 commitments.

    Some predictions -
    1) The 2009 Cary Bulls Jr Legion team will have more D1 signees than the 2008 State Champion Bulls (5).

    2) Holly Springs and Middle Creek will give Green Hope a good run at the Tri-9 title in 2010.

    3) David Josam will be the 4th GH senior recruited this year - excellent defensive centerfielder, great speed (4.4 in 40), a good hitter on the verge of becoming a really good hitter.

I'm not sure if the 09 Bulls can top 5 DI players but it will be close. There are 1-2 2010 guys remaining that have an outside shot. There are a couple younger guys who have a very good chance also. There will be several guys who make it to the next level whether it is DI or not.

I'd have to add Athens to the group of Tri-9 contenders. They will be strong with Betts, Van Genderen, Williams, and Ruth leading the way on the mound. But you are right about MC and HS. The conference just got a lot more competitive with the addition of Holly Springs, as if it needed more strength to begin with.

Sorry, just getting excited about watching Joe and the rest of the Green Hope team this upcoming year.

Alot of people talk about Joe's "bulldog" attitude when he plays, you can see why below.
