2010 NSA State...July 4th?

    Did I see that the NSA State tournament is on July 4th weekend? That sure will be difficult on some families around here. I hope I did not see that right. For some of our folks that is the only week they get for vacation. Now we are asking them to miss vacation. Not sure how that will go over. I guess we have to play the state to play in the World. So if teams miss the state, then that means missing the World in our area. I think the cities would like the local teams to play there. Somebody help me here.

    June 18, 19, 20 State Tournament 14U,16U,18U
    Rock Hill
    July 3,4,5 (Sat,Sun,Mon) State Tournament 8U,10U,12U
    July 25-31 A World Charlotte/Rock Hill/Huntersville
    July 25-31 B World Chattanooga Tennessee​

    there will be many more 4th of Julys for this age group....chill​

    July 4th tournaments have been some of the most entertaining! I remember the AAU Nationals in Concord one year even brought in local law enforcement and put on a rather exciting good guy-bad guy performance complete with many blue lights and K-9's. And fireworks, of course. A HR derby, baserunning speed competition, etc.

    Hopefully, the tournament director will remember the holiday and spice it up for the occasion.

    Mother's Day used to be the one you didn't mess with.

    I remember one Mother's One Day Tournament that had 14 teams in it. We were still playing ball @ 1:30 A.M. in the morning, that's right 1:30 A.M. in the morning... You gotta LOVE THE GAME !!

    Played SB in Wilmington one year at 3:00 AM. Got beat and then had to play looser bracket game at 8:00 am...... Tourney got back up because of rain

    Yea I figure it will be a one day tournament if it is played that weekend.I know my team will have that whole week off for family vacations and just a well deserved break.What are they thinking???????
