    my dd's ortho said to ice her elbow and shoulder after each game for a minimum of 10 minutes. we used a thing that had those freezer packs and attached to her shoulder and elbow, kinda like a sling. it worked, it helped her come back fresh the next game, but i know she hated walking around with that thing.......not very fashionable i guess

    icing the arm...

    i've been playing softball for 11 years, 3 years at the collegiate level. DO NOT WAIT to ice!!! inflamation really hinders range of motion and adds to a whole list of preventable injuries. softball is so demanding on everyone's time, and it makes it all the more difficult to play when you're dealing with pain in your arms. at this level, my whole team ices...everything! we use crushed ice and basically saran-wrap it right to the skin!
