    Mooresville 23

Mooresville actually held a 17-14 lead in the fourth quarter but the wheels fell off once again. N. Meck scored on a long pass play to take a 21-17 lead. Then scored again on an interception to go up 28-17. Mooresville closed the gap on pass play but failed on a 2 point conversion attempt, to make the score 28-23 with a little over a minute to go. An onsides kick was fielded by N. Meck. and Mooresville was outta time outs.....game over, right? take a knee and watch the clock tick off the last minute, right?

    WRONG

    N. Meck decided to put more points on the board and they succeeded with 11 seconds to go.

They decided to run up the score on an 0-10 football team.

    Bandys 28
    E. Burke 12

Game started out very fast as East Burke fumbled after holding Bandys on their 1st possession. They fumbled few plays later and gave Bandys a short field. Bandys took advantage up 6-0 (PAT blocked). Later East Burke got the ball and had to punt on 4th down from around their own 30.. Well... Debro got flustered by the rush and decided to pull it down. BIG MISTAKE.

Bandys took over but went for it twice on 4th downs. 1st time successful. 2nd time not. East Burke got the ball and proceeded to do absolutely nothing with it except throw Interceptions and let Bandys make miraculous catch one behind the other.

With about 5 minutes left in the 2nd & trailing 21-0, East Burke finally converted and got their 1st 1st down of the game. They continued to gain 4 or 5 more and punched it in the endzone with 30 yrd pass to Dustin Wilson. PAT also blocked so score going into halftime was 21-6.

3rd qtr started with the longest drive I've ever saw in high school football. East Burke received opening kickoff and drove it for 7 minutes down the field to make it 21-12 after they fumbled short of the goal line on the 2pt try. Bandys wasn't to be shaken with the possible collapse as they drove right back down the field. Bandys was aided with some horrible mental mistakes by EB such as hitting WR Seth Cranfill 5 yrds out of bounds after he made a great catch inside redzone. Bandys punched it in and went up 28-12.

Both teams traded turnovers and punts in the 4th as Bandys held on and shut down the attempt by the Cavs to make a 3 way tie at the top of the CVAC. Bandys more then likely will wrap up an undefeated conference record as they play at home next week against Bunker Hill who lost a tough fought game at home vs Maiden tonight 21-10. East Burke will travel and play their last regular season game at South Iredell.

Great job by both teams tonight. Got chippy at times, but it was 2 great high school programs fighting for every inch on the field and that's exactly what it is all about this time of year!

Cougars struggled with South Caldwell. Spartans stuffed the Alexander Central ground game for the most part but the Cougars passed for over 200 yards. QB Kyle Kinnaird was hurt twice. He went out in the 1st quarter with a left shoulder injury but he returned. Kinnaird went down with a serious ankle injury in the 2nd half. Right now, it's tough to say how serious the injury is. He will be examined again later and perhaps get xrays although it's not thought to be a break. His status for next week against Hibriten is, I would say questionable although that's not official. Cody Bowers played very well in Kinnaird's place. Gus Smith had a big night catching a td pass. The Cougar defense as always was rock solid. Big one next week against Hibriten. Not to take anything away from South Caldwell but the Cougars did not play very well in a lot of ways.

    Yeah..

Yeah I hope it isn't too serious. Was wondering what all happened thats why I posted the thread on AC's QB with Kinnaird. Failed to know that it was his left shoulder that was injured though. If anything else is known please post it or post it on the thread about the QB cuz I may forget and not think to look back on this one.

    Prayin for ya 7!
