How did Biggerstaff handle the officials after they failed on the 'loss of down aspect' on the interfence? Can't imagine he didn't bring this to their attention.

I don't know if he knew the rule but I saw him talking to the line judge. What surprised me is that I was the only one in the crowd that seemed to realize that we had been jipped. Even my fellow fans were giving me funny looks when I was screaming my lungs out that it should have been 2nd down. I was yelling so hard the line judge must of heard me because he began shaking his head. But the rule says offensive passing interference comes with a loss of down and the ref even signaled offensive passing interference and the loss of down signal but they replayed 1st down.... that stuff angers me even if the outcome of the game isn't affected. Missing judgment calls is one thing but to not know a rule or know it and not enforce it is just pathetic. Coach Biggs I believe was more worried about getting the defense to wake up and stop the pass.

I agree this is something the officials shouldn't have allowed to happen, however will all the 'staff' on the sidelines of most high school teams and I'm sure E.B. has a full staff SOMEONE should of called this to the attention of the Ref. Not sure if it led to any score however, this late in the year with playoffs around the corner, you can't let anything go.

You're right. Someone should have said something but not many people know that Offensive Passing Interference is a loss of down. Heck, the coaching staff didn't know "Hurdling" was a penalty until it was called in the Maiden game. I get upset when the officials miss the easy calls (Non-judgment calls) even if it didn't affect the outcome of the game directly. Who knows what could happen, on any single down in High School football anything and everything could happen.

EB will continue to lose if they don't grow a pair and quit letting these pansy teams who like to trash talk beat them in games that actually matter. The entire offense needs to quit taking hits and start punishing people to try and keep the defense off the field. This happened some at the end of the 2nd quarter and beginning of 3rd against Bandy's but only from a few people on the offense. I think the game would be better some times if there were no refs at all to make the game lopsided. That way the players who like to trash talk would just get busted up and not try to sneak by behind the refs.
