3A WEST

Seriously Rob, read my posts before you call me out, i stated three teams who i thought were good in 3a west then some guy wants to argue about why i think a conference is not that strong, i have submitted my thoughts that Tuscola, Asheville, and RS central are pretty good, stop arguing with me over my opinions which i have developed over the entire season and watching teams through out the year

 

I wasnt not arguing anything. Shelby is one of the best 2a teams in the state every year and going 10-1 with some guys who were on jv to start the year is pretty impressive. They were fairly young this season due to injuries. The next few years they will be pretty good and so will Burns, who was very young this year as well. The SMAC will be pretty tough next year.

Hopefully East Burke makes it to the second round so they can show everybody how overrated Shelby is this year.

Hey Drewbie.. the 2AA west thread is on here. Keep this one strictly to the 3A West talk and projections.

 

Shelby and overrated do not even go in the same sentence.

Have you even seen them play in a game (not a scrimmage) I have a couple of times.

They have alot of speed and some young talent on that team that would start at alot of schools around this area. Plus Chris Norman might be the best coach around this area.

I would like to see a Shelby vs. East Burke match up but Salisbury will not be a pushover for the Cavs.

#8 Concord vs #9 NW Cabarrus

This seems kind of intriguing especially after Concord came off the win against AL Brown. Concord a few years back got on a huge roll at the end of the season and made run at state and won it. I don't believe they'll go that far this season but timing and when your playing the best has a lot to do with it. Whats everybody else's thoughts?

#4 Tuscola vs #13 Hickory

Everybody that I have talked to about Tuscola has said that Hickory has more of a chance than the rankings would predict. I really know nothing about Tuscola and I know that Hickory has a very good athletic team. They are also young. The backfield they have will be around for a while especially the hard running #35 at FB. Any indications from anyone?

#7 South Rowan vs #10 RS Central

South Rowan by all indications from the previous weeks should win this game more than likely. RS Central is a good team though and could possibly play them tough. This game could get very interesting especially if South does the sin of the playoffs and look ahead at a possible showdown with West Rowan.


Just at a glance these are the games that seem like possibly could be very good. All the other ones may turn out to be very good. You have Hibriten at #1 and they should move on to 2nd round over Harding, Burns looks like they will beat W. Henderson, Asheville shuts down the great returner in W. Iredell and they win, Franklin and Hunter Huss I really know nothing about these teams except I have a great aunt that lives in the Hunter Huss area, and West Rowan is just a great team and should defeat Freedom this Friday.

 

I think Tuscola rolls Hickory. Tuscola's passing attack is superb. Their QB is one of the best I have seen and he has a rocket for an arm. Take a peek on youtube for highlights of the Tuscola/Asheville game. Hickory can move the ball at times but they just don't have the size to compete with teams like Tuscola.

 

I don't see anyone breaking up the West Rowan/Hibriten matchup in the regional final unless it's Tuscola. West Rowan is the team to beat untill proven otherwise IMO.
