Why allow this? I'm really not sure why you play 11 games if one of those games doesnt count. Anyone else think this rule is beyond stupid?

You are allowed to drop a game for seeding purposes. However, The game is still on your overall record, just drop for that purpose only.

But why allow it? If a team has a loss they should not be able to drop it for playoff seeding.

I dont know why the nchsaa does have the stuff they do. I think they should go back to the old brackets where 32 teams made it from each class.

you don't drop a game if you only played 10 games....basically the "endowment" game that the NCHSAA allows (b/c its money for them and the school).......not every team has the ablility/luxury to play 11 games.....the season is based on 10 games.

I see no problem with having an endowment game. I do think the schools should have to pick thier endowment game before the season, and that would be the game they must drop for seeding win or lose.

the entire set up is all about the $$$.....the seeding process is based upon "coin flips"......and then you typically play someone that is geographically close to you (and could be in your own conference)....i agree with Coachcre, they need to go back to 32 teams.

Notsofast said it, because of $$$. NCHSAA gets a cut from the endowment game and from the playoff games. Double the games means more money for the NCHSAA. Apparently it takes a lot of money to make us wonder what they are doing.:stoned2:

not a fan of it either

4A West - RJ Reynolds finishes 11-0, Ragsdale 11-0 and Dudley 10-1. Dudley's one loss was to Ragsdale. But Dudley gets to drop that loss so now all the teams are 10-0 and have to draw straws to seed. Dudley gets the two seed and Ragsdale is third even though they beat Dudley head to head.

in 4AA Butler got the better seed over Richmond because the head to head win. But Ragsdale couldn't do that because a third team (Reynolds) was involved. Just seems wrong that a team can lose a game to another team but it "doesn't count"
