A good propane dugout heater to keep the girls warm is always a smart idea :hump:

My daughter starts using her old black stealth in cold weather. its never failed yet. been offered loads of money for that old bat but i cant bare to part with it.

.....I'm pretty sure that you're right CheezePal. I think "warming" a bat is considered "altering".

I bought one of those Pyrotech microwave bat warmers for my DD back a year or 5 ago Maybe it worked batwise and maybe it worked some kind of "mind magic" for the kids, but 'ol Einstien the Fishman blew that thing up in the hotel microwave and it was a trip at first, yeah, funny, haha, and then I got the bill from the Marriott.

I could have bought three bats at that price.

coachtammy, what source are you quoting? not doubting your word, but contacted asa today and rule has not changed for 2010.

    Only If -------------

It doesn't alter the chemistry of the bat....you can not heat up a bat with a propane or any type flame mechanism...

    Heating bats not considered altered

Cheeze, treck posted this in the ASA NATIONAL UPDATES thread

Not sure there won't be differences, but here are the Rules Changes on my list.

    YES:
    All 16U & 18U to pitch from 43'.
All 16U & 18U may wear metal cleats.
Foul first bag can be any contrasting color.
    Warming/heating bats not considered altered.

have personal interest to see how this pans out, as we had considered making propane bat warmers prior to the asa banning them.
