Need advise before season

Ive heard where parents gave up guardianship of their kid to play at a school. Family matters or parents finding loopholes?

2. Dad sits down with his kid and says," look junior, you take the reigns" " The kid now will have the ball in his court, he can bitch, sling snot, complain and actually screw up his HS existence on his own.

3. Dad sits down with junior, " look pal, this might come over weird but I'm not your best friend, I'm your Dad, your best friend will tell you what you want to hear, but your mom and dad will tell you what you need to hear.
Now get up brush yourself off, and go earn your spot on the field."
