Somebody once said knowledge is power and then someone else came along and said a little knowledge was a dangerous thing.

Well, gonna share a lil something with you all, to help you pass the time this Winter. Am not sure if this has ever been posted before, but it makes for VERY good reading and will answer A LOT of questions that get asked on here.

I really like how the writer doesn't sugar coat much. This site is concise and has an archive broken down by sport and topic (although I would recommend reading as many as you can). You may click on baseball and he speaks of football, but the principles are the same.

I would recommend starting out with this one:

    http://recruiting-101.com/ten-things-to-do-to-not-get-recruited-by-college-coaches/

Obviously, the more you know about the process, the better off you may be.

Want to know the real difference and pros and cons of walk on vs preferred walk on? You'll find those answers and many more on the site.

Good Luck in your process and happy reading!:hungry:

    And you're welcome.

    6.) Disrespect your parents
I read an article a while back about a coach who had an in home visit with an athlete and he moved on as soon as he heard the athlete talk to his parents. Treating your parents poorly is a huge sign of disrespect towards those around you.

This reminds me of a story passed to me by a college coach. He watched this one young man before a game help his disabled mom into the stands. Once she was situated, he gave her a kiss goodbye and returned to his team. The coach told me at that time, he was going to do whatever it took to get that kid on his team. As it turned out, the kid did go to his school and went on to become the Freshman of the Year in the conference--and this was after the young man lost his Mom to cancer.

As the old story goes, "you never know who is watching....."

Lots of views, minimal posts... at least everyone's getting perspective on the process!

While we're at it, another one to help you pass away the cold Winter nights...

Yes, if you shop at Wal Mart on a regular basis, people are most likely making fun of you...

Stretchy's Woodstock outfit seems to work well in Walmart--but that half-mullet is kinda scary
