Beware of a king who bows out silently! not wishing his knights to eat, drink and be merry.
Noble Knights never leave the round table (by the pool) even when secrurity asks!
The secret...always have Knight Chris Hill sitting at the table with you!

Knight James did not see the stroke of midnight. The King and rest of the court were going strong till asked to leave the area. The junior knights were busy getting their domes in shape with "the Dirk" getting a new due. Priceless.

King James had a logistics situation... looking back I have determined that my internal clock was on Atlantic standard time due to my true knightly Eurpoean roots and started the festivities an hour or two earlier than the rest of the knights thus requiring me to bid the table adieu a little earlier than planned. Wise men know don't bring a knife to a gun fight and don't sit down too early with King James.

    In all seriousness...

On a serious note I would like to say that Jeff Schaefer is a stand up guy and a professional. My son started out on one of CBC's teams. He then played a couple of seasons with another showcase team. During the time my son was playing outside of CBC Schaef never changed one bit. Schaefs tradmark smile and wit greeted myself and son at the door everytime we went to CBC. My son loves to work out and he was at CBC alot. Everytime he returned home he had a message from Schaef or some word of encouragement that Schaef had shared with him. Jeff never treated my son one bit different when the jersey on his back wasn't CBC's. At the heart of it Schaef is a true Coach. He wants kids to get better. My son shared a moment with me that sticks...it was his first tournament back with Schaef...My son hit a triple...when he got to third and things calmed down...just before the next pitch Schaef whispered "man its good to have you back"...Schaef's comment had nothing to do with the hit. hits come and go...Schaef was glad his player and friend was standing on the field beside him. The biggest testament I can give about how I view Jeff Schaefer is that I trust my son and his baseball with Scheaf blindly.

    Jeff Schaeffer - Great Article

Schaeff is a great person and a great baseball coach. He and Jake Robbins have helped my son more than I can write in a few lines, but they are always encouraging and positive even while pushing a young man to get better and do more than he thought he could.

In addition to each of them being former major league players, they have assembled a great staff of coaches - including former Wake Forest head coach Rick Rembielak, former major league pitchers Mike Gardiner and Jeff Trombley, and current players Joe Borchard and Kyle Shelton along with long time area coach Mike Hennessey from Country Day and others...

If you are lucky enough to have your son work with Jeff and Jake and the staff of CBC you are truly providing them the best opportunity to get better and reach their potential - both on and off the field.

    CBC and Jeff

I was able to spend a little time with Jeff in Wilmington and can say he is one of the best baseball men I have ever met. I was able to sit with him during a game and we talked baseball past and present. He gave me insight to the game that made me a better dad and coach to some of the younger kids.
I also spent some time at the round table and heard some good tales from all side of the table.

Bottom line, if you are located anywhere near the CBC facility, make the trip. Everyone is friendly and willing to talk baseball with anyone who enters. Great baseball atmosphere in which to learn the game.

I would trust Jeff and Jake with my Son, no questions.
