Real good report! The ECC is a tough baseball conference! No slackers!
C.B. Aycock, Eastern Wayne, South Johnston, Triton, North lenoir, & Southern Wayne. Every conference game will be a battle!

    C.B. Aycock

Aycock should be very good again this year. Alot of good players returning:
    Connor Narron (senior shortstop)
    Jordan Quinn (senior pitcher)
    Nick McGee (senior catcher)
    Jeff Carmel (senior)
    Adron Hollowell (senior pitcher)
    Eric Dubose (senior pitcher)
    Tyler Ruffin (senior 3rd baseman)
    Tyler Farmer (senior)
    Derek Limbaugh (junior)
    Jonathon Taylor (junior)

Only losses from last years team: Will Edgerton (UNC-Wilm) & Jimmy Kearney. This is a senior-ladened team that should be pretty good.

    Thanks
Another point about the loss of Gourley and Wooten. Leadership! Just by being on the field and through their example, they made everybody else on Eastern Wayne's team better. The loss of their leadership may be missed as much, if not more, than their playing ability.

CBA should be a strong team this year. Will be interesting to see how the conference turns out. CBA has a large senior class with lots of talent and these guys play well together. Will Edgerton will be missed in the center field position. His speed can not be easily replaced but Tyler Farmer has proven to be a contender for that spot.

Aycock will be good. Hitting & defense shouldn't be a problem. What's your opinion on the pitching staff? Teams live & die sometimes on their starting pitching. Adron Hollowell is good. Who comes after him? and who are the pitchers to look at from this conference from the other teams?

    Aycock Pitching

I don't think that pitching will be as big a question mark as some might think. While they may not have that stud who you expect to dominate the game every time they toe the rubber, they do have three returning seniors in Eric DuBois(LH), Adron Hollowell(RH), and Jordan Quinn(LH), who have proven that they can get guys out at this level. In addition, Junior Right hander, Derek Limbaugh, logged some innings in relief and showed glimpses of potential. They also have two leftys coming up from the Junior Varsity, Junior Aaron Champion and sophmore Bryant Stafford. Stafford may have the most velocity on the staff but needs to improve his offspeed stuff from last year. He has the potential to be very good but needs to learn to pitch instead of just throwing hard. DuBois, Limbaugh, Champion and Stafford just pitch, while Hollowell and Quinn play a position as well. DuBois should get his share of starts. I wouldn't be surprised if Hollowell's used mainly in relief, probably as a closer. Quinn's starts may depend on how productive the younger guys are. If they can do the job, you may see Quinn used more in a fireman role. He handles pressure pretty well and has demonstrated the ability to come in with guys on base and get you out of trouble. In short, Aycock has three senior pitchers who have demonstrated that they know how to pitch and can get you out. They also have some young guys who have the potential to have a break out year.
