Streak of 83 ends tonight in Boone. Hickory's regular season conference winning streak is now 0. ZERO!!!

Hats off to a very talented, well-coached Hickory team, but tonight belonged to the Lady Pioneers of Watauga. They earned every bit of that win, going wire-to-wire never trailing. Final score: 85-69. After going up 9-4, Watauga never led by fewer than 5, and had double-digit leads every quarter.

Hopefully, this will be a confidence booster to these girls that will carry them through the remainder of their season. Enjoy it, players & coaches - you did what few have done over the past 5 years, and it was a joy to watch. We're proud of you!

Where is everyone? My biggest fear has come to past. This new Northwest 4A/3A has killed the message boards. I don't know the players. I can't talk smack.
    Thanks for the update.

Seriously.... Are people posting elsewhere now??? Always enjoyed the witty banter by the folks off the mountain.

Congratulations to the young ladies on the team. You have worked hard over your career and have put in a lot of time working on basketball. You deserve this victory. Hopefully you will be able to round out this season on a positive note. Good luck!
