And I simply don't believe you. I heard the same stuff about Byrnes not scheduling Indy during the time period of the streak (didn't believe that either). I was at the scrimmage and remember Byrnes winning by I think a touchdown and a bunch of subs being used by both teams and a good many Indy players didn't even play (as I am sure Byrnes as well). The sad thing is that I can't even remember the game that well because it was a scrimmage and traditional football rules don't even apply. As far as Indy not scheduling ANY team, there are more factors. Knotts tried to get Indy to play a team on a regional or national level but that didn't occur until 2007. Indy couldn't get a Nike contract because of the NCHSAA and always had MANY more teams wanting to play them than their schedule would allow. Honestly, if you are Indy and have 6 titles and an undefeated streak like they did in 2006, Gaffney doesn't even hit your radar. Gaffney needed Indy for validation much more than the other way around. I am sure Gaffney would have given Indy a game that year and maybe even won but the implication that Indy ducked Gaffney or Byrnes is absolutely false.

I don't want to get into a spitting contest with you but I disagree with your statement of "it is a fact that Knotts would not schedule either team". As a member of the booster club through 2005 at Independence I can tell you this was not the case. There was a lot more to it than that. Back to the main point of this blog, I think he will do well in SC and I wish him nothing but the best!
