A Lot of Uncommitted Talent Here

... I guess it goes without saying that there are a number of pitchers in attendance that certainly would make a college coach very happy with their potential.

I would like to thank former Wake Forest skipper and Director of Player Development Rick Rembielak for all of their kindness in helping make live coverage possible for this event.

The scouts seem really to be enjoying the performances.

Notably one of the biggest eye turners was 2011 Benton Moss hitting 94 on the gun so far.

94?...wow, and Benton is probably not in 100% game ready shape yet

Matt, when you get a chance, fill us in on some players that are unsigned that caught your attention

    Uncommitted Players - Standouts

Here were the uncommitted players that caught my eye - also for anyone who is interested I did get photos of all of the participants in action and should have them online sometime soon.

Thomas Allen 2010 RHP East Rowan - tall great build, good command hit 86 on the fastball

Jimmie Davis 2010 RHP/1B Whiteville - looked like an all around ball player - also good command, worked the fastball up to 85.

Jordan Farthing 2011 RHP CB Aycock - got his fastball up to 86

Nick Flachofsky 2010 RHP Mount Tabor - great command, fastball up to 87

Robert McKinney 2010 RHP/OF Foard High - looked well rounded - fastball up to 88

Luis Paula 2011 RHP/INF - big prospect from NE Guilford - hit 88 on the gun

Travis Zyczkiewicz 2010 RHP - just threw strikes with good delivery and repeatability on all his pitches - got to 84 on the gun

The readings I got after the showcase had Benton Moss at 90-91 but his delivery on all of his pitches was the most impressive thing. His change and curve look just like his fastball. I don't think I could even hit him in my best baseball dream (and probably wouldn't be able to work a walk or hbp either - but that probably would hurt).

I think Cherry Hospital would be the better fit and sweet uniforms!
