Everything so far falling into place for Thursday's rematch at AC Reynolds which btw will be a 5 pm start.

 

Guess what folks...another night of basketball, another night of cancellations.

Due to numerous circumstances Erwin vs McDowell has been called off till Saturday, 2 pm jayvee start.

Congrats to Reynolds on playing a good game on their home court. This win squares up the MAC going into the season finale this weekend. It's looking likely that state playoff seeding will now be determined in the Conf. Tournament next week at North Buncombe.

 

Stats on the McDowell/Reynolds game?

 

The old nw4a teams really did well in their new conferences. Freedom wins their conference. Mcdowell and AC Reynolds tied for their conference and South Caldwell wins the NW conference. Sure wish these all were still in the same conference although I don't miss the ride all the way to Asheville I would still trade it to have the old NW4A conference back and do away with these split conferences

 

Time Change for Tonight's Game

The Varsity Girls matchup between Hickory and South Caldwell has been moved up to a 5:00 pm start time at South Caldwell due to impending weather. JVs will not play.

 

I see several games in the mountains have been called off. Of particular interest is Asheville vs Erwin and Reynolds at North Buncombe.

The Asheville-Erwin game is re-scheduled for Monday while Reynolds-NB will be played tomorrow. Now, with that being official, that must mean the MAC Tourney has already been pushed back a day.

Folks, I'm no certified Meteorologist but I do know for sure another storm system is progged to affect the mountains and foothills on Monday. I'm afraid some major schedule issues are going to occur next week in the mountains...once you start getting close to the state sectionals, the NCHSAA has to start getting involved.

 

In one of the strangest things I've ever seen the girls game was postponed at HALFTIME. Will be finished at a latter date. The gym was packed, everyone already there why not go ahead and finish the game????????? Yea it was snowing but not a blizzard. Ended up with a couple inches nothing to shut down the roads. People get used to all the snowing and start living with it the same way people do up north. I really think they dropped the ball on this one. Somebody panicked
Oh yea it was SC and Hickory. 15minute drive max for 75% of the people there down 4 laned 321.
