    East Meck v Catholic

    CC 100 000 0 1 2 4
    EM 070 100 X 8 6 1
    EM (4-0) CC (1-3)

    WP Jonathan Crews (5IP 1H 1ER 6K 4BB) (1-0);
    Leach (in relief) 2IP 1H 0R 2K 1BB
    LP Wiese

    EM Little (2-3 2B 2RBIs); Leach (1-3 1RBI)
    CC Randall (1-2 2B)

    In between rain showers the Eagles and the Cougars got their game in over at Ed Bryant's Field of Dreams. After giving up a double to lead off the game, EM's big lefty Jonathan Crews fanned 6 over 5 innings and relinquished no more hits. Ben Leach finished things off for the Eagles, looking good on the mound and at the plate. The weather conditions seemed to get to the Cougars in the second when errors and walks combined with 3 Eagle hits to allow EM to put 7 runs on the board. The Eagles continued to show new found power at the plate, slamming 3 doubles off the fence.

    Did we see the same game?

    Natural
    I too was at the Aycock/Hunt game but I'm not sure that we saw the same game. Aycock booted the ball a couple of times, one which proved costly. But to imply that Aycock, except for Narron, has a poor defense is inacurrate or disingenuous at best. The difference in this game was a normally solid pitcher who had a rough night. Not trying to put the pitcher down. Its hard to have your stuff every time you toe the rubber and Hunt is a very scrappy and tough team who will make a pitcher pay if he doesn't have his stuff. I've seen Aycock play several times this year and can say with all honesty that this is a very solid ball club and to suggest anything else is misleading.

    I would have to agree with rhs91 aycock doesn't make alot of errors and the pitcher aycock threw just happened to have an off night against a very good hitting hunt. Aycock also didn't hit until the 5th inning other than Jordan quinns hr in the second inning. Aycock will get back on track and be just fine.
