What are the early impressions of the change? My suspicion (counter to some of the conventional wisdom) is that junk ballers will be hurt more than the girls who throw hard (a true 60+).

As a whole I'm seeing much more offense and scoring as was expected. I think that is a good thing. There are still a couple pitchers in the state that will dominate hitters even at 43'. ACs Wilkerson struck out 14 of the 15 outs in throwing a perfect game to open our season but she is not the norm

    On the Contrary !!

Our little sophomore pitcher with her spins has sit more down than most with her offspeed stuff, these kids with the quick hands are having more trouble putting a bat on the ball. It hasn't effected her one bit...:speechless:--Guru

    Junk Ball

I think the junk ball pitchers that throw in the upper 50's will do fine. You may see strikeouts decrease, but it's not always about the K's, it's about getting outs. A good junk ball pitcher, who is not a beast, should strive to keep the hitter from setting up on a pitch, change their eyes, change speed, keep the batter off balance. The difference between the good and the elite is the combination of speed and movement, one sets up the other.

    adjustments

whether it's the pitcher, or the hitter, the one that adjusts will win.

Makes a kid be a pitcher and not just a thrower.

....nice post. .....and on the otherside, just being a batter, doesn't make you a hitter.
