Cory played at Cary HS and then went on to Surry CC and eventually Elon.

Cory dressed with the big boys yesterday and will do so again on Tuesday (MLB Network vs the Marlins). Not sure if he'll get any pt but its still great for him to be noticed by the organization.

What a GREAT Kid. Cory is a super athlete but even better person. Maybe Leo the Lip Durocher was wrong: nice guys do finish first after all!!

I played against Cory and you are right, he is a great player and competitor and an even better person. We are all pulling for him to make it in the big leagues.

I met Cory about a month ago at a batting cage in Cary. My son was in the cage working with his hitting coach when Cory came in with Clay Council. Both were so nice to my 8 year old, talking to him as if he were an adult. I saw Cory hit and was amazed. He was in a cage, but the ball was jumping of his bat. He was absoluting smashing the ball. Maybe Clay will get to throw in another homerun derby one day!

Would be awesome. Clay is a legend but it doesn't stop him from working with local kids non-stop. He also "produced" Landon Powell, backup catcher for the Oakland A's.

Cory and my son played summer woodbat 2 years in a row...and he stayed with us a good bit. Went to Danville last summer to watch him too. We communicated wth him last night. He didn't get in today.

But he's enjoying it...and wrote on Facebook: "I am riding on the same bus as derek lowe, melkman cabrera, larry jones tim hudson. This is pretty sweet!"
