    Pennell Wins Another USAS Weekly Honor
    Hannah Pennell of Greensboro College was picked the USA South softball rookie pitcher of the week. Pennell has earned this three straight weeks.

    Hannah Pennell of Greensboro College was picked the USA South softball rookie pitcher of the week. Pennell has earned this three straight weeks.

    The tallied a 3-0 record in three appearances last week for The Pride. Pennell allowed one unearned run on eight hits with no walks and ten strikeouts in 15 innings pitched last week. In a doubleheader sweep of USA South rival Averett, she picked up both wins. In an 8-5 game-one victory, Pennell pitched the final three innings, allowing one unearned run on two hits with three strikeouts. In an 8-0 game-two win, Pennell went the distance and allowed just three hits with two strikeouts. Finally, in a 2-0 victory over USA South foe Shenandoah, she again tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits with five strikeouts.

    The Pride, which has won nine straight games and swept four consecutive conference doubleheaders, hosts Meredith on Tuesday at 2 p.m. It's Pride Packs the Place for softball.
