Farmville Central won the title game of the Ray Avery Tournament at Ayden-Grifton over South Lenoir 5-3.

Matt Ashhorn was the hero for Farmville and the tournament MVP with 2 doubles, 2 runs, and a diving stop at shortstop to end the game. Will Davis led off the Jags' scoring with a homerun as the game's lead-off hitter. Will James hit a double, Sean Peters & Jamison Oakley also had hits.

For South Lenoir, Logan Deaver pitched well enough to win the game striking out 15 batters with 6 hits and 5 walks, but the Blue Devils could not come up with timely hitting and left 11 runners on base, 7 in scoring position during the game.

Leading hitters for South Lenoir were Ty Eason who was 2 for 3 with a double and Deaver who was 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs. SL also had hits from Ty Kennedy, Josh Harris, Brad Hunter, & Spencer Harrison.
