Is LA a really good team or what? I believe they could play in most conferences (public or private- 1, 2, or 3a) and win it. Nash Central has a very solid team, and they took them to the wood shed. They pitch, hit and play defense.
I assume Whitehead will pitch tonight for them and Miller for Tarboro.

    17-15

Hope the scoreboard operator is being properly compensated for all his hard work. The forgotten person in baseball: The scoreboard operator.

    Roanoke Rapids prevails

Final 17-16 as St Maria missed the extra point that would have tied it.

5th place game: Jefferson Forest Virginia leads 12-0 over Southwest Edgecombe in the 5th inn....pitcher tossing a no-no so far!

Cody Carr tosses a perfect game in the victory for the Cavaliers....i am headed to the stadium to meet this kid...

Actually Stretchy we (Roanoke Rapids) blocked the possible game tying extra point. It was kind of like the scene in Varsity Blues. I sent the wedge buster over center and our speedy wideout rushed right behind him and was able to block the kick.

It was definitely an interesting game. It was kind of like a "Tale of Two Cities" the baseball version for us. The start was the worst of times (picture some early scenes from the Bad News Bears) while the end was the best of times (strong pitching by Jeffrey Manning and 7 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning). But one thing is for sure, I will take the win and be happy.

This was our first time in the Tarboro Easter Classic and it lived up to its reputation. Strong baseball teams. Great Hospitality. Good Food. Coach Miller and everyone involved were first class from start to finish.

    2010 Champions

Lawrence Academy uses the long ball (3 homers) to back the pitching of Chad Whitehead (10 k's) to defeat the host Tarboro in the championship game. Congrats.

This Easter Tournament every year is fantastic and the food is delicious!
