    Dear TBRockers,

Some of you are aware that CBC was selected as the Mid-Atlantic National Team Identification Series (NTIS) organization for USA Baseball. I am honored by the recognition and excited to play a major role in identifying and selecting players in NC, SC, TN, GA and AL to play for Team Mid-Atlantic.

The responsibility is to form one 13U, one 15U and one 17U team from a series of ID events across the region. These teams will then compete at the USA Baseball, National Team Identification Series Finals September 10th, 11th and 12th in Cary, North Carolina. The national event in Cary, NC will consist of three days of evaluation and games played against ten other NTIS regional organizations from across the country.

The Mid-Atlantic NTIS events leading up to Cary are set up in three stages. Stage one will consist of ten, one day ID/Evaluation workouts that will take us into each state of our assigned region. Stage two will be a two day Sub Regional ID/Showcase with games that will take place in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. Stage three will consist of a three day format and will be held in our home of Charlotte.

The CBC evaluation team is committed to bringing to Cary three highly skilled and competitive teams to compete at the USA Complex in September. In a short period I have had the extreme fortune to have met so many people inside NC/SC/VA baseball community who are truly involved in baseball for the kids. It is those baseball people I am asking to help Team Mid-Atlantic recognize the top players in our region. I believe with this form of cooperation we can all feel we played a part in the process of bringing the heat into Cary.
Team Mid-Atlantic NTIS evaluation crew is dedicated to seeing as many players as possible over the next four months. All of us understand how richly talented this region is and I am asking TBRockers, to assist our efforts by recommending players.

We recently launched our new website where you can get the details regarding Team Mid-Atlantic NTIS and recommend a player(s). If you know a player that you feel possesses the skill set to tryout please log onto www.cbcbaseball.net and fill out the “recommend a player” form. We will contact the recommended player and provide him an invitation to stage one of the Mid-Atlantic NTIS.

I want to quickly answer a question that was recently emailed to me.
Who will be doing the evaluations? Will it be someone from the national USA Baseball program or someone from cbc?

There is serious talent in this region that the evaluation team is looking forward to seeing. The objective is to put together three special teams to compete against best in the country. We are looking for the players who can represent the Mid-Atlantic regardless of what uniform they wear. USA Baseball had several organizations they could have chosen but felt CBC would not be biased and evaluate every player fairly.

There will be a few who will forbid the players in their organizations to tryout. What is unfortunate as they will see this as a CBC program and not what it really is…a chance to play for Team USA. There are also people presenting programs and making promises that are not directly affiliated with USA Baseball, beware of those people and check with USA Baseball to make sure you are not being led down a false path. For those of you who understand that the NTIS program is USA Baseball and about the kids, please take the opportunity to recommend players.

The USA Baseball Team Mid-Atlantic NTIS program is for any player who dreams of competing against the top talent in the country. Making Team Mid-Atlantic puts a player in position of being invited by USA Baseball to the Team USA National Trials next summer and from the trials the real opportunity of a lifetime… to play for Team USA

To you players in and around Wake County ...

I certainly hope you take advantage of the 7/1 ID Camp to be held at NCST. Having personally played for Team USA myself, I can honestly say there is nothing like wearing your country's uniform in competition , and this is a great opportunity to see if you have what it takes.

We have some excellent talent in the area ... let's make a great showing on 7/1, maybe you can one day wear USA on your back !

Is the 7/1 ID camp an ID camp for CBC and NTIS or whose ID camp is it?

7/1 Team USA ID Camp at NCST

These ID camps are for the Mid Atlantic National Team Identification Series (NTIS) organization for USA Baseball.

On their behalf, CBC is putting an evaluation team together to help identify the top talent at each camp.

    2Seamer,

Thank you for your question and I can understand why you would ask it. The July 1st date you are asking about is to ID/Evaluate players for Team Mid-Atlantic not for the CBC Diamond Rats.

We are looking to for the best talent we can find in the 5 states that we have been awarded to compete in one event. The USA Baseball NTIS Final event is in September at the USA Complex. There we will compete against 10 other organizations from across the country that USA Baseball awarded NTIS regions. We will some of the best talent in United States at this tournament.

TBRockers, If you have any questions regarding the NTIS Team Mid Atlantic please do not hesitate to email or call me.

    Sincerely,

    Jeff Schaefer

    Great Opportunity to Get Seen

What a great opportunity to get seen by scouts and wear the USA jersey.

Not many get the chance to do that in their lifetime...
