Photos and thoughts from Jack Sink and East Meck

First off Kudos to 2 great organizations for hosting fantastic baseball events last week. Baseball was wonderful, great weather, amazing talent and a lot of fun for all. I hope one day to be there watching my son play in one of these events.

Thanks to my friends at EM and MP for all the pre event information and invitations to come out. You don't have to beg me to come watch baseball, especially good baseball like we have here in Charlotte

No Providence photos?

 

My photographer came on day 3 for the Sink,,, As you remember, Rain and storms ended the day with 3 games

We will be at a couple of Providence games before the season is out,, I have a feeling you will play deep into the playoffs this season, Best of Luck, I love watching games at Providence

You will hopefully be happy to read the story in my Wed night issue on Stephen Hasty, a South Meck player, or the photo of Lenin Pena, another South Meck player.... This issue even has a story on a small private school's baseball team....

I know all about the AK/Providence/CC triangle of publicity, but they've earned that spotlight (kind of like UNC and Duke in college basketball). I also agree that South Charlotte Sports tries to cover a variety of stories that impact our region. None of those schools were at the East Meck Spring Showcase last week and South Charlotte Sports was there from beginning to end. In fact, we were very pleased by the media coverage in general. If you tell them, they will come.

 

Tripp, your paper is the exception when it comes to covering All Sports in this area. The Observer could learn a lot from you if they wanted to. Please, keep up all the great work and I look forward to reading about Stephen Hasty. And YES, I am aware of what school he attends. Isn't that the school that is presently tied for the SW4A Conference lead???? Why yes it is!

 

How Quickly Peoiple Forget...

The SW4A was the only conference to have EVERY TEAM qualify for the state playoffs last year.

That is an amazing statement. AND all the teams played very well when they got there - Last place Indy took first place Providence right down to the wire - I think it was a 1-0 ball game.
