    You want bad officiating?????

"The game was marred by some of the worst officiating in recent memory. Both sides suffered from a lost strike zone and untimely bad calls all over the field."

Cuthbertson over Berry Academy. It was a one-sided game, but that is not why I am posting. Now these are 2 HS umpires that are getting paid for a good nights work. I don't mind strikes being called that are balls when the game is getting out of uncontrol, but in two seperate innings where Cuthbertson had batted around and there was only 1 out, the umpires said there were 2 outs. 2 seperate innings! Balls and strikes are one thing, but adding more outs that don't exist is another. IMHO

    WP - Peter Hendel (5 - 1)

    Cuthbertson moves to 13 - 1.

    Game tying Grand-Slam...

From our Enquirer-Journal in Union County that I must say does a good job of keeping up with all sports and a lot of baseball in Union County...

Trailing 10-6 with two outs and the bases loaded, junior Hunter Hiers took the batter’s box for the first time and belted a grand slam deep to center field to send the game into extra innings.

“The first thing that was going through my mind was that coach (Mennitt) gave me the chance to pinch-hit and come off the bench cold like that, and that’s a hard thing to do,” said Hiers. “But I’ve known the kid that was pitching for a long time. I wasn’t trying to do anything special but just get on base and try to help my team out.”

Hiers, a 6-foot-5, 225-pounder, had just 16 at-bats all season prior to his game-tying blast. It was also his first home run of the season.

    Cuthbertson over EE Waddell

Another one-sided game. Officiating was much better.

    WP - Cameron Tekker (5 - 0)

    Cuthbertson now stands at 14 - 1.

Next game is CATA at Cuthbertson on Friday. Possibly AL Brown on Saturday.
