A long road he traveled in such a short life.... this was one battle I was hoping would be won well.... and maybe it was - for those who knew him and were inspired by him. Rest in peace, Will - I don't doubt you will continue coaching from your new home

I can provide you one more story of how Will's spirit...his fight...his attitude...his love for the game helped another young man. I've told many of you how Alex & I were sitting in the the waiting room to get the MRI done last June on his elbow and Alex went onto TBR thru he's new IPhone. He found out Will had passed so it made for one of those conversations regarding perspective, life and God that will forever last in my memory. He had met Will when AK played Watauga. There is no doubt how much the way Will fought affected people while he was living, but he continued to affect folks after his passing because his spirit assisted our family in a time of need. God bless the Dicus family.

Tom. Imagine a game and a team one could coach if they were all like this young man!

Memorial contributions can be made to:
    Watauga Baseball
    c/o WHS Booster Club
    PO Box 1171
    Boone, NC 28607-1171

Contributions are tax deductible and will be receipted.

Early plans are to raise enough money to make a significant contribution to build the indoor batting and pitching facility at the new Watauga High School and name it in Will's honor.

    #6 Tribute Night

What about dedicating a Legion game in his memory and accepting donations. As a Vet, I think his life and his story, represent the same attributes as what our servicemembers deal with on a daily basis. Honor, Courage, Bravery, Selflessness and most importantly Leadership? Is this possible?
