    losing

NCSU now 20-26 after 2 losses to Campbell U.

Someone told me that State has not had a losing season since 1967, Sam Esposito's first year.

....season records are what they are. I saw a bigtime BOMB today at NCSU v. NCCU. Cameron Conner, hit 2 HRs and one of them was a smoker! My dad played in the pros, I played, well, ran bases, at ECU, and my DD plays in college, which makes me an expert! lol, so trust me on this one....Check this out, Connor hit a ball today, I think in the bottom of the 6th, that cleared the leftfield fence by 100 feet. Thats right, 100 feet.
I don't know how far the ball traveled but I know what I saw when the ball crossed that fence.
    WOW!

    help me

some of you guys that really study the college to pro baseball process and skills required, help me on something. The talk before this season and even before that was that Russell Wilson would likely be drafted in baseball in 2010. That may be so, but I notice he has had a difficult time cracking the starting lineup @ State in 2010. Seems he's had a fairly solid performance when he's been used in games, batting .322 but has only started in 12 games and played in only 22 of the total 33 games.
I know he's been used as a spot pitcher and otherwise mostly in the outfield, but my point is how do you get drafted by a MLB team when you are not even an everyday starter at the college level?
Has the experiment of using him as a pitcher been a detriment? maybe that has confused the scouts as to his potential as a position player? He has hit better this season than before, albeit in limited AB's.

I think the guy is a special talent and he really seems like a first-class young man. As a fan, I'm really glad to have him with the Pack in both sports, and hoping he's at QB in the fall, but just wondering how his baseball potential is really being perceived by the scouts?

    #16 QB Wilson returning

what does this mean about his prospective professional baseball future?

    WRAL-TV news news from April 13, 2010:

O'Brien: Wilson returning to football in fall

[IMG] N.C. State quarterback Russell Wilson rolls out of the pocket against North Carolina.

    April 13, 2010 at 9:15 p.m.

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State coach Tom O'Brien says quarterback Russell Wilson will definitely return to the football[IMG] team next season after spending the spring concentrating on baseball.
O'Brien had said he expected Wilson would return, but he left no wiggle room when asked after Tuesday afternoon's practice near Carter-Finley Stadium. O'Brien put it simply, saying, "Write it down: he's coming back."
O'Brien was trying to put to rest any speculation that Wilson might not return to football and focus solely on baseball[IMG].
Wilson was an all-Atlantic Coast Conference pick two seasons ago and led the league with 31 touchdown passes[IMG] last year.
Touted recruit Mike Glennon[IMG] has been taking the starter's reps in spring practice with Wilson gone.
