Central rallied in the 5th. scoring 6 runs, then adding another run in the 7th. but it was not enough. NW advances to play winner of Robinson/Hickory Ridge tomorrow at AL Brown. Not sure of game time.

J.M. Robinson defeats Hickory Ridge 4 to 2 to move on in the tournament. Hard to beat a good team three times in a row.

That's for sure, but KANNAPOLIS has just done that to CONCORD-3 times in the past 6 days;tonight WONDERS win 6-5....Zack Jones pitches 6 strong innings and gets the win. John J. Tuttle comes in and retires the last 3 batters to get the save. Kannapolis goes home to face Mt. Pleasant @ 4:30 tomorrow, followed by NW Cabarrus vs. JM Robinson.

Great job by Zach Jones tonight, John J didn't throw many pitches making him available tomorrow. The "Wonder" defense has been superb the past few games and they have getting some big hits up and down the line-up. Next up for Concord... East Rowan! To their credit they are locked in and that Burris kid in RF/1B can flat-out play! Good luck to them in the state playoffs.

    Kannapolis 9 Mt. Pleasant 8

Kannapolis won its fourth straight game, by beating MPHS in the first semi-final of the SPC tournament. MP took a 2 run lead off John J Tuttle in the bottom of the 3rd off a 2 run homer. Kannapolis answered in the top of the fourth, tying the score off a 2 run triple by Zach Wright, Kannapolis would add 3 more in the inning to take a 5-2 lead. In the fifth, Kannapolis pitcher John J Tuttle led off with a HR increasing the lead to 6-2. The 6th brought more Kannapolis scoring as Soph. LF Garrett Welch hit a 2 run homer, his 1st as a varsity player. Kannapolis led 9-2 going into the bottom of the 6th and MP mounted a furious comeback and had the tying run on second, but a groundout to 2B ended the game. Tuttle had 5 solid innings and gutted this one out for the win. Championship on Friday, NW Cabarrus vs. Kannapolis @ Veterans Field in Kannapolis.

    Northwest 11 JM Robinson 8

NW wins an ugly, and I mean ugly game vs. JM Robinson tonight at AL Brown. Nothing against any of the players from either team but the crew that officiated the game had to be the worse of any crew I've seen, ever. Anyway, NW gets the win and advances to play AL Brown on Friday night.
