Wed 5/5 First RD:NWG at RBG, HPC at SWG, PKLD at RGSDL.
Fri 5/7 Semis: 3 winners plus EF all at SWG field.
Mon 5/10 Finals at SWG.

 

I just got a text message from my son, he said the Kannapolis @ Concord game is still on. But looking at the radar, it looks like more rain heading this way from the SW.

 

All SPC games canceled until Tuesday at 6:30 PM

 

That is correct--semis still Wed. @ A.L. Brown.

 

Mountain Athletic Conf. Baseball Tourney info

The Mountain Athletic Conference recognizes seperate champions for their 3A and 4A classes. Here's the schedule for this week's tourney...


Thursday May 6th: (7 pm start time for all games)

(3A #4) Asheville @ (3A #1) Enka
(3A #3) Erwin @ (3A #2) North Buncombe

(4A #3) AC Reynolds @ (4A #2) McDowell




Friday May 7th: (Both Championship Games at McDowell)

3A Tournament Championship: Asheville/Enka winner vs Erwin/North Buncombe winner (5 pm)

4A Tournament Championship: AC Reynolds/McDowell winner vs TC Roberson (7 pm)

 

CPC Tournament

Tuesday 5/4

#3 Mt Tabor vs. #6 Reagan at 5:00pm

#4 Davie vs. #5 Reynolds at 7:30pm

Wednesday 5/5

#2 North Davidson vs. 3-6 winner at 5:00pm

#1 West Forsyth vs. 4-5 winner at 7:30pm

Thursday 5/6

Championship at 7:00pm

I think it's a joke, IMO. You gotta know how this conf. is made up to understand how I feel the way I do. And the worst part is that the format was a last minute change of plan. We had to do this during basketball season due to so many cancellations. So the conf. as a whole decided to make it apply to all sports.

First off there's only 3 4A schools out there. If we had a 4th member, I would be more receptive to the idea.

Second, you got the complaint that some 4A's dont wanna face 3A's so late when seeding is on the line (and vise versa).

Third...they split the tourney up yet both championship games are being played at the same site. Don't get me wrong...I'm glad McDowell is hosting, it gives us the exposure and the ability for our program to make some extra money through different avenues.

In the end I personally wanted to see one overall tourney. We're getting the same number of games regardless, they (the conf. as a whole) should have done it the right way.

 

The SMAC dont have a conference tournament.
