Speaking for the 4 A West, although there are some very good pitchers, there are no Cody Penny's, Alex Wood's, Richie Shaffer's, Sean Pope's...all guys that could shutdown any offense.

    LMHS Loses to TC Roberson

    Final score

    LNHS 1
    TC Roberson 9

TC Roberson hit three homeruns in the suspended half off of LNHSs pitchers. TCR hitters do not get cheated in any swing on a fastball. Reported that 5 seniors already signed LOI with the 6 5" Shortstop heading to Vanderbuilt and the 3rd baseman to USC Upstate. This team at home hits the long ball about 340'---nothing more then a high fly ball in most parks.

    TC Robertson The Real Deal

They are on a roll !

Pitching must be good too in order to hold Lake Norman to 1 run - some of those kids can swing it.

TC Robertson and Hopewell have to considered the west favorites now.

    lake norman tc game

Two of those hr's were legit, especially the one to right. TC has been able to score runs but they have a tendency to give a lot of runs also, but some of those guys can really hit.

    The rest of the Story.....

It was Maverick Miles that hit it. Having watched many a game at that field I can honestly say that it was the furthest one I have witness. Landed on the hill in center field behind the flag pole. This after Maverick took the very first pitch of the game into a car in left. So, if you didn't have the scouting report before the game, you certainly did after the first pitch.

Maverick was being scouted at the game as well. A High Point University commit at this point, but come June who knows. Oh, with that power comes 4.1 home to first speed.

Now the rest of the story---standing there speaking with Maverick's dad that evening I asked him how long it had been since Maverick's OPEN HEART SURGERY? He proceeds to show me the post op photo of Maverick in a hospital bed recovering from having his chest opened up in OCTOBER!! 6 months ago.

Great story. Albeit I am a Weddington fan you have to love this one.

Good luck to Maverick in June.

I think tj was refering to this post about the whinning! As far as M.Miles is is concerned, when we played them, we pretty much pitched around him, but May threw 2 fastballs right by him, then he hung a bender that was hit down the 3rd base line for a double, driving in a run. The NPC is stout, however Marvin Ridge was hurt when Cutherberston HS opened. If that group had stayed together...look out! The NPC had 5 quality teams, but only 4 spots in the playoffs and those 4 are still alive. Look for Carson to win at Catholic and advance deep into the playoffs, just as tj said, he knows his baseball!!! :39:

    Glenn over West Forsyth

West had lots of chances to beat Glenn. Kyle Humphrey had a very good game at the plate. West just seemed anxious and swung at some bad pitches. I thought after Jason Smith hit the homerun off of Currie that he pitch well until Parks Jordan hit a 2run homer.West is a better team on paper but that doesnt always mean you are going to win.

    WP Hunt
    LP Currie

    LH
    Humphrey 3-3 HR 2B

    Glenn
    G Motsinger 1-4 2B
    Jason Smith 1-3 HR
    Parks Jordan 2-4 2B HR
