My first thought was to go and get all the Rams who frequent this board and paint Braves house the school colors so he would never forget, then i realize Braves is getting up there in age with me and sometimes we forget things. He gets a one time pass.

It's perfect Braves. I think I speak for all Harding supporters when i say "We Approve of this message".

Back to Langston's story. It is the type of topic that i have seen covered over the last several years as the numbers obviously support a drop in participation and interest from african american athletes. I think that one reason that may have been missed in this is today's push for athletic 'specialization'. Kids now are pushed to choose one sport to play virtually year round now. When faced with this decision, i think that athletes from the black community find it easy to choose football or basketball because of the reasons that are noted in the article (cost, scholarship availability, exposure, etc). The days of the multi-sport stud athlete are largely over.

Youth baseball is better, but it does come at a price. Many of the best athletes around are not taking advantage of playing the game.
