I was witness to a player being "restricted to the dugout" (ie disqualified from the game) for language used towards the plate umpire on a called third strike this year.

The unique part was, it was so very much a strike. Was not even close to a questionable called third strike. :byebw:

Great news...The Broughton player has been cleared to play tonight.

Thinking back on the play the Broughton player attempted to dive over and around the catcher, and the only contact that I could see from where I was sitting behind the backstop was the catcher applying the tag. Now, the blue may have seen the Broughton player raise his arm, but the player was probably just trying to brace himself for impact/collision. Like you said Coach the blue probably had time to think it over and realized it was just a bang-bang play and the player meant no harm and was just being aggresive. I and others I spoke to afterwards didn't see any malicious intent in the Broughton player. There was no reaction from the other side's fans except to applaud the play -- It was a great throw from the Jordan RF, catch, and put out by the Jordan catcher to save a run.

Thanks for the input guys. On to the second round....

26 is correct here. It's either a disqualification or an ejection. DQ is not nearly as bad. A lot is left up to the umpire. And yes, he can change his mind after the game. Football is the same way. In Guilford County an ejection carries the remainder of the game you are in plus 2 more and an on-line class. DQ means you are out the rest of the game you are in.
