nice post just softball except for #3. the state games has worked hard to stay away from travelball and we have gotten stuck each time. we moved to a weekday and the dynamite move the start of their tourney back a day. this year its the border clash. both are great tourneys that give no respect to the state games.

i hope the east can put the differences aside and put together a team for a great day that caps a great week of softball.

Susan, I am not above admitting I was wrong and I apologize for thinking you were the man I thought you were. Unfortunately I can't place you so I know nothing about you, your husband, daughter or team that I could post on this board, but I wouldn't even if I did know. You know quite a bit about me (which is kind of weird, but whatever). I don't know if you didn't know or just didn't have time to say but to add to your list of facts about me...you are correct that Megan is receiving a softball scholarship to Mars Hill, not a "full ride" as some would like us to believe their daughter is receiving. BUT, with a 4.6 GPA she is receiving enough academic scholarships to make up the difference at this very fine private college. I just didn't want you to leave this last fact out because it is the one of which I am most proud because if you didn't know my daughter gets this trait from her mother and her athletic ability from her father.

    Coach Selections

Coaches for the State Games are selected by the NCSCA with the approval of North Carolina Amateur Sports. It is a four year commitment. Coaches are given the opportunity to apply to NCAS to be an assistant coach for 2 years, Head Coach of their respective Region in year 3, and a member of the East/West All-Star staff in year 4. Some Regions have an extremely large number of coaches who apply for those positions. Examples are Regions 5,6 and 7 in the West and Region 2 in the East. There is not as much interest in some Regions with the coaches. It is during the summer vacation and some do not want to make a 4-year commitment. I can assure you that the NCSCA wants to have as qualified coaches as possible on these Region teams. It just seems that some of the coaches in some of these regions are not interested in extending their coaching duties past their high school seasons.

    So, let's see:

    4 Reynolds players
    3 Pisgah players
    2 Roberson players
1 each McDowell, Owen, Stoney Mountain

158 rbi between them this season
    20 hr between them
    4 players avg over .400
    4 players avg over .350

I don't know anyone involved here but it sure seems like these young ladies deserve to enjoy participating in the State Games.

Seriously, let's try to honor these kids and their coaches!

Either I am very confused or you don't have a clue what you are talking about. I don't know if you are addressing this to me or to the people that are making the comments on the AC-T website???? I can't speak for them and can't help what they say. I can only speak for myself and I don't need to ask my high school coach if she was offered to be coach of state games because she WAS the coach last year, right after she quit her job as softball coach at Tuscola. Your rant confuses me.
