Saturday playoff scores

I never once said that it was handled the right way. I absolutely agree. we should have finished. and like i keep trying to tell everyone. we were never opposed to finishing the game somewhere else. it wasnt our call it was the officials. i mean do you honestly think that we enjoy beating a very good team by it getting dark? no. it was probably the most exciting game ive ever played in and i loved the competition. Reynolds is a great team and we all do feel bad that it had to end the way it did. so im not in anyway shape or form bad mouthing Reynolds because they were very good. but think of it our way too. we worked our butts of the entire season in order to get a home game for some sort of home field advantage. i dont think its fair to us not to be granted that right when we rightfully earned it.

 

Any other scores or are we going down the same dead end road as before?

 

Neither myself or CMartin would think it was handled the right way because it wasnt. But there is nothing at anyone can do about it now. You people make it seem like we persuaded the umpires to call the game that way. It made me sick that we had to win that way. And that is why every PR player, every student at the game, every able parent, and hell even some of the GRANDparents were out working their butt off to get the field ready to play with the little amount of light that was left. The bottom line is that it wasnt handled correctly but there is nothing anyone can do about it now.

This situation is not the fault of anyone at Porter Ridge.

Congratulations to the PR boys on a great run - keep it going as this is the best story in a long time about a team coming together to make a run at the end of the season.

If there is anger and hurt it needs to be directed at changing the rules for the future playoff games in the NCHSAA. Either that all games have to complete 7 innings or some other way to give every team all of their chances.

A great game that ended in forfeit with the tying run at 2nd and 3rd. Apparently
Bonzy held up the game while she sprinted to 2nd base to give her son a gatorade after a dramatic double. She got into a heated discussion with the umpire who was upset that she tried to feed her son a hotdog, too. When she tried to offer the ump ...it was all he could stand. He called time, awarded my son's team the win, grabbed the money and sprinted to his car. What a game!

congratulations to porter ridge on defeating us rockets 1 0. your pitcher was disgusting and after 6 innings deserved to win the game. the only thing is people are right, we'll never know who won that game. as well, the rockets feel robbed because: they had a much better record yet were forced to travel, were forced to play at a field with no lights, could not finish the game with their three hottest hitters coming up, and finally the balk. the whole situation felt like the STATE, not porter ridge, were out to get us as soon as we beat alexander central. good luck in the fourth round pirates
