    To note...

Plaster was a player in '88, but there was no series.

There was no series, just one game. Plaster started at 3b that night. Harding beat East 8-3 in the Regional Final. That was the same year the Kernersville team won the Legion state championship.

Sorry guys, I was only 3 in 1988. I knew Plaster was there and they were 23-2, but I did not think they made it to the regional final. I could only remember as far back as 1998 when Zumwalt and Company were there and they lost to the eventual state champion NW Guilford

I appreciate you making me feel old. Dang.

That was a very talented group as evidenced by their Legion Ball run that summer. They just ran into a hot team with a hot pitcher who was able to go on a Saturday night because of a rain out Friday.

Good luck to them later this week. Sounds like both clubs are playing outstanding baseball right now.

Don't know how "far the fences" are, but I must say they had a pretty bizarre shaped outfield. Dead center looked to go straight out into a point - and pretty deep. The field was surrounded by three roadways - if you build it, they will come...obviously..no matter where you put it. I wish them well and hope that a state championship might generate some revenue for them to put some work into the field.

    Oddly...

some pro parks have gone to reconfiguring their fields to now include "oddities". Maybe East's field is just fine with it's peaking/pointed CF. Maybe they don't need to spend money to reshape it.

Settle down, Kitty. I was talking more about the "field," which closely resembled a cow pasture, more than the shape of the outfield fences.
