Anyone notice how tj21 relates everything to food? Even directions! LOL!!!
BTW tj, I went to the Legion game on my way back into Ktown. (Either that or spend a couple hours with my wife... OK Baseball!) Kannapolis beats Concord 5-4 in 10 innings!

    East Rowan 2...NW Cabarrus 1......final

result by phone, unable to attend, although I made it up there last night for the biggest washout I have ever seen from such a small cloud. Driving toward the park and away from the park, the skies were beautiful....total gully-washer at the field, though.

East Rowan beats NW Cabarrus 2-1,,,,,,, not much to report except to say it was just a great pitching duel between NW's Taylor West and ER's Parker Gobbel, ER lefty (can't remember name) relieved in 6th and also pitched great. NW pitcher only made one mistake all night when ER's 1B (Austin) hit a solo HR in 4th. Down by 1, NW actually got a chance to have a baserunner in the 7th when a single to RF was misplayed by the ER rightfielder, but ER's CF (Sapp) backed up play beautiful, hit the cutoff and runner was thrown out trying to stretch it to 3B on the play.

Not much offense by either team, hats off to the pitchers tonight. NW had a great year,,,,,,, ER will host Tuscola in Western Finals (best of 3) beginning tomorrow night (all 3 games of series scheduled to be played at ER) next 3 days (Thurs,Fri.and Sat.if necessary).

Will Johnson is the ER relief pitcher. Only has 4 ER on him all year. Before this game, his ERA was 0.72. He's doing a great job for the Mustangs!!!!

A sad ending to a season that had it's share of highlights for the NW Trojans. Taylor West pitched the best game of his career striking out 12 but give the Mustangs credit, they too played one heck of a game and will represent the 3A West well. Good luck against Tuscola. Hats off to all of the seniors who played their last high school game tonight. It's been a blast watching you grow and mature over the last four years playing the game you all love. I wish nothing but the best for all of you in your future endeavors.

Although he kills me to say this, these two teams are two of the best in the state, regardless the classification. This would have been a helluva 3 game series! Hats off to NWC for a great season after losing some key players to Cox Mill. Coach Hubbard is "Coach Of The Year" for the SPC. Great run guys!!!!:hurray:
