TC ran out of gas in second game. Tough to maintain energy traveling and playing 2 in the heat. Both teams played great defense, some of the best plays I have seen all year, webgem caliber. Walks hurt TC in the second game. I have a feeling Rams will come back rested on Monday and put up a lot of runs.

Both teams sure can hit, and could have had more if not for the great catches and the very long drives that were caught at the fence; unofficially, this is how they did - every single starter had at least a hit

    EF
    Ben Anderson 3-7, double, rbi
    Evan Orenstein 2-5, HR, rbi
    Casey Starbuck 2-5, rbi
Jacob Watts 3-8, HR, 2 rbi
    Garrett Robinson 2-6, HR, rbi
Shane Dickerson 2-6, double, 3 rbi
Luke Dunlap 2-7, HR, 3 rbi
    Zac Joyce 1-4
    Landon O'Dell 1-9, rbi

    TC
    Aaron Wright 5-8, 2 doubles
Kevin Price 4-7, HR, double, 4 rbis
Matt Fernandez 4-7, HR, double, 3 rbis
    Alex Ledford 2-4
    Carson Bryant 1-3, HR, rbi
    Will Greene 2-7
    Tim McKeithan 2-8, double, rbi
    Chandler Wrightenberry 1-6, double
    Spencer Toth 1-6, rbi
    Joel McKeithan 1-8, double, rbi

Not that I'm taking sides, but it's great to see Matt Fernandez having a great series---what a terrific young man from what I read about him in "Today My Son" thread

Thanks! He's had some coaches and teachers who have inspired him the past couple of years including the man who deserves to be coach of the year, Coach Suttles, and Coach Harris of the Heat Showcase team that had many other fine young men like Shane and Casey from the East Forsyth team and Kyle Himler, another great kid being featured on another thread. It's been a Heat reunion this weekend that just got extended with the rainout. They now play at 6 Tuesday!

    Since nobody has said it...

:N1Idontgetit: ...this 4A West Regional schedule has been LUDICROUS!

TC "couldn't" play last Thursday for end of school/travel reasons. Weather was fine that day and the game could have been played. Even with rain Friday, the Saturday double-header would have then wrapped it all up.

Then yesterday (Monday), NCHSAA says "no game" (at 10:30 AM) due to "possible" weather problems and TC "wasting" paying for a bus. HOWEVER, round 4 of the softball playoffs was PLAYED YESTERDAY in Kernersville at 7:30 at Glenn - no weather problem. What the - how do you call a game on possibilities?

    Here's the deal...
It should have been two at one site, one at the other. It wasn't. But at this point, it seems to this objective observer that the home team, East Forsyth, is bending over BACKWARDS (being made to) to accomodate the visiting team and any problems/requests they have. It is not right. This series could already have been finished if started on Thursday when originally set forth by NCHSAA policy.

If it storms the next three evenings, will they settle it with run differential??????

Play games as soon as possible. Don't "skip" days to accomodate anyone!

In a series like this the first thing that comes to my mind is the pitching situation for both teams. Obviously some arms are resting during all these weather delays. Who benefits the most?

Honestly I'm going to have to say the Eagles and here is why:
Yes, their 2 guys threw on saturday and both threw complete games, but both of those guys have thrown 7 innings in every playoff game this year. The only other person to touch the mound was Evan Orenstein in the 10 inning marathon with North Davidson. East's "bullpen" should be very well rested. I would not be surprised if Dickerson started and then Schultz behind him and then Joyce and Orenstein and the rest of the Eagles. I think both teams are going to hit and who ever makes the fewest fielding/baserunning mistakes will take on Laney.
