....oh I get it, if the pitcher can leap and fly then they can generate more power. Otherwise why would this even be a discussion.
Next thing will be that the lefties will have to run to a different 1B bag a couple of feet further down the line just to make it fair.
Or lets move the foul line for free throw shooters up to 10 feet.

Batters have gained ground on the pitchers who have been given a cake walk for years and now that the truth comes out, everybody wants to cry foul.

OMG, the bats are too hot, bam, they changed the bats. 43 feet, what, thats where you pitch in college, if you want 40 feet, go play intramurials.

The rule says a runner can't leave the base before the ball leaves the pitchers hand, so why not call a kid out if they "only" left just a little early?

Stealing? wow, that makes sense........if you walk into a parking lot and take an old ladies pocketbook or jack a car, its called stealing and if you work in a deli and you give away a free sandwich or don't charge your roomie for a deli tray, thats stealing too!
Rules make for a civilized game!

More like being allowed to drive 8 mph over the limit and then suddenly start pulling you over for driving 5 mph over the limit.

It looks like the back foot is off the ground and she still has the ball. That would seem to me that at some point both feet were off the ground. And that's leaping--illegal tonight.

Call it what you will.....whining sour grapes or whatever......but my concern would be the sudden significance of the illegal pitch in the most minute detail. I understand a stop to blatant violations giving the pitcher an obvious advantage. However the move has been from no call to every call to the point of changing the game.

My dd has been very fortunuate to work work with a number of quality pitching coaches for different times of duration. (One of which was Windmiller who she and I both developed great respect for in a short period of time.) In working with 7 or so different pitching coaches, with the exception of her first who worked the basic fundamentals, none have taken issue with or made attempt to change her delivery due to it being illegal.

She threw ms, hs, 14, 16,18, asa, nsa, and college with one out of 24 call in 14u. Then in the fifth inning of regionals in Florida....with 7 k's and no hits in the first 4 innings....the ump suddenly called every pitch an illegal pitch. His only explination to her was she had to pivot on the rubber and could not push straight off. His explanation to her coach was followed up with his proclamation that Florida umpires were better trained than what they were used to.

Rules are rules agreed, but the sudden strict interpretation is the equivalent of a rule change.

SIFan, No one can really tell off your profile picture, it's a little blurry. How about enlarging it( make it real Big ) for him to see better.
