Oh...you were talking about the games. I thought it was about the mascots...Hooty clearly won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great wins by the Copperheads. Honeycutt and Darnell were dominant last night. If they're on they are tough to beat...and Tanner Merritt is no cup of tea. You guys are loaded!!!!!! Coach Shue said this is the most talented team he has ever had----and I believe him. I just hope and pray you guys take it easy on our little Hootettes!

After the Copperheads won the first game of the twinbill, the Owls came back to win a thriller in the 10th inning in the nightcap.

The games last night were fun in a lot of ways. Hopefully, the series will continue as a rivalry as the Owls finally took one from the Snakes. But what was fun was witnessing a very good crowd in attendance. The largest I've seen at a Copperhead game in years.

When I said the Copperheads were loaded with talent, I was not kidding. Ryan Stetson is a beast going yard in 2 consecutive at bats. On a side note, Kyle Mastroianni, cf for Owls, made two valiant efforts to rob Stetson of his HR's--both times flying over the fence in his attempts. The 2nd time caused Kyle to bruise his ribs, but refused to leave the game. Later on he had a key hit ro help propel his team to the win. The kid's enthusiasm for the game is incredible and is highly contagious with his teammates.

Will Helms, App St, did an excellent job on the bump for the Copperheads in the first game and it was great to see Tanner Merritt, ECU on the mound. Both of these guys will add to the pitching depth at both of their schools. And if the Merritt's happen to read this board, your son is loving it here in Charlotte. He may not want to go back to GVegas.:kid:

Wes McBride continues to improve with each performance. He has a nasty slider that he's added to pitches and it was very effective. The kid is such a bulldog that he wishes he could throw 150 pitches every time--fortunately, the league won't allow it.

It was great seeing Tyler Zupcic and Tyler Tewell playing again. Those guys were outstanding before college, but have gotten even better.

Clearly, the Copperheads are the class of the league, but Owls are sneaky. They will attack a snake if it's not paying attention.

Fun games, fun series, fun league and it's getting stronger and better every year. Good luck to both teams----The Owls and the Snakes!!!!!!
