Just wondered why there has not been more conversation about Pete Schultz. His line from last game 7IP 3H 2BB 18K is incredible. IS he committed anywhere? Has he been doing this all season? Just wondered?

Talked with Pete the other night. I believe UNC-G is interested and Mairst was until they over in-rolled by over 100 and stop all talks with 2010 players. I believe some other schools as well as JUCOs have been in contact as well. The main reason I think he's not getting looks is he's not a flame thrower (84-86, maybe a hair more and and hair less) and he's 5'11" about 145 lbs. He knows he needs to put on weight, but he needs to hit the weightroom too. Don't get me wrong, I love this kid to death and I want him to go play somewhere because that is all this kid talks about is going to play at the next level! If anyone needs to know more about him or a contact # send me a PM

He has only said "no" to one JUCO, and that is because the school aspect would not work. Gave a "lets wait and see" to a D3 school early, don't think anybody can argue that approach.

Kid has skill and huge potiential upside as a pitcher and definitely wants to play at the next level. Good student and phenominal kid, don't make 'em any better.

We've had this problem before with finding Kevin Mattison & Ryan Dull somewhere to play in college. Kevin, now with the Jupiter Hammerheads, at last check was leading all minor league baseball in stolen bases. Ryan is the Friday starter for UNC-Asheville as a sophomore with a 4.62 era and a 5-3 record on a team that is 15-33. Had coaches on both these kids tell me that they did not realize how good they are until it was too late.:N1Idontgetit:

Pete is another one that I can't understand why he is still available. Go ahead and add Landon Odell & Evan Orenstein to the same list. Landon is an outfielder & Evan a corner infield guy both from East Forsyth.:apeani:

Landon O'Dell commits to Guilford Tech...some of these other guys who "coaches don't realize how good they are until too late" really need to consider JUCO. Saying that the school aspect wouldn't work is a cop out...it is usually the ego aspect that wouldn't work. It is not sexy to say I am going to Guilford Tech or Surry or wherever, even though it is the smart choice. Congrats to Landon. It will be interesting to see where he lands in the next couple of years.
